Talwandi Sabo, November 12, 2015 (Neel Kamal Sonu): 5th Annual Inter College Athletic meet of Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo was organized in the Campus by Directorate of Sports. On the concluding day Dr. N.S. Malhi, Vice Chancellor appeared as chief guest. Dr. Kewal Singh, Director Sports, GKU shared that total 8 teams participated in this meet of constituent colleges of GKU.

On this occasion two parallel functions were organized under the guidance of Dr. N.S. Malhi, Vice Chancellor, GKU. All the librarians of different libraries of the University were honored by the Vice Chancellor.

Talwandi Sabo, March 26, 2015 (Neel Kamal Sonu): On the occasion of “World Water Day” Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo organized a seminar on “Ground Water Crisis Management in Punjab”. A renowned water management expert, Dr. G.S. Hira, who is the force behind the act on water savings framed by Govt. of Punjab for paddy transplanting, was the key expert.

The seminar was organized by the College of Agriculture. Dr. A.S. Sidhu, Dean of the College welcomed the guests and introduced Dr. G.S. Hira to the participants. He informed the house that Dr. Hira is an authority on water management and he retired from active service of PAU as Addl. Director of Research.

Talwandi Sabo, March 07, 2015 (Neel Kamal Sonu): 4th Annual Athletic meet of Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo organized in the Campus by Directorate of Sports. On the opening ceremony International Volleyball Player Dalel Singh Chauhan, Asian Medalist was the Chief Guest and on the concluding day Padama Shri, Bahadur Singh (Asian Gold Medalist, Arjun Awardees and National Indian Coach) appeared as chief guest.

As per Dr. Tarlok Singh Sandhu, Director Sports, GKU total 8 teams participated in this meet comprising constituent colleges and sister concerns of the University. Dr. N.S. Malhi, Vice Chancellor, GKU stated in his address that students should participate maximum in sports along with academics so that overall personality of the students to be developed.

Talwandi Sabo, February 13, 2015 (Neel Kamal Sonu): Physical Education College of Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo organized an Intramural Cross Country for the physical education students. During this cross country boys covered distance of 12.5 Km. and girls covered 5 Km.

Dr. Narinder Singh, Director Finance and Dr. Tarlok Singh Sandhu, Director Sports of GKU flag off the race along with the other officials. Around 60 students participated in this event.

Talwandi Sabo, February 4, 2015 (Neel Kamal Sonu): University College of Agriculture of Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda organized a guest lecture on crop diversification and economic sustainability for small and marginal farmers. Dr. Ajmer Singh Sidhu (Dean Agri. College) welcomed all the speakers and listeners of the lecture.

Keynote speaker National Awardee Mohinder Singh Grewal (an innovative and scientific farmer of country), (former member of Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India) shared valuable talk with faculty and students. He motivated the agricultural students for self employment at their own farms by adopting innovative and scientific technologies like increasing cropping intensity and involving vegetables, field crops and incorporation of agro based enterprises like poultry, piggeries, bee keeping, fruit nurseries and seed production etc. This Expert lecture was organized as an essential for learning practical training for final year B.Sc. Agricultural students.

Talwandi Sabo, January 29, 2015 (Neel Kamal Sonu): Rangoli and Poster Making competition was organized at Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo in Bathinda. Guru Gobind Singh College of Engg and Tech, a constituent college of GKU coordinated this programme and around 100 students participated in this activity.

Dr. Gagan Gupta and Er. Harpreet Kaur stated that students tried to give message via these Posters and Rangolies which will definitely help to root out the social evils from the society. During this competition students made Rangolies and Paintings on Female Foeticide, Drugs, Environment, Blood Donation and on the topics of Prevention of AIDS.
