Amritsar, April 24, 2015 (Munish Sharma): In an effort to inculcate ‘dignity of labor’ as preached by Mahatma Gandhi, students of  all departments of Global Institute picked up brooms and cleaned the college premises to mark the “World Earth Day". The symbolic gesture by students was an endorsement of the Prime Minister' “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan” a movement on cleanliness.

Amritsar, April 22, 2015 (Munish Sharma): Making friendship bands for trees, collage making with trash, Delhi Public School packed a whole week for ecological awareness and celebration of Earth as mother, culminating on World Earth Day today. Primary students of the school watched a special movie by the CHIPKO Movement named “Waste is Wealth” learning about saving water in many small ways and the bane of wasting this precious commodity.

Amritsar, April 10, 2015 (Munish Sharma): Class XII student Shahbaz Waraich brought laurels to Delhi Public School by being selected Deakin University Australia for the Vice-Chancellors Meritorious Scholarship Program (VCMSP). School Principal Sangeeta Singh informed “It is a moment of great pride for Delhi Public School as Shahbaz was honoured with an International scholarship. The scholarship carries an Award of Aus $ 34,065.”

Amritsar, March 25, 2015 (Muniash Sharma): In an effort to enjoin environment with education, especially with the fauna and flora, five students of Delhi Public School along with four teachers participated in a International research based project on world bird count survey organized by Cornell University, Canada.

Out of five students and four teachers, as many as three students and two teachers made it to the top 100 who participated in the survey of birds in Amritsar including DPS teacher Sarvir Singh and Arti Sood along with students Riya joshi, Yuvika Maheshwari and Shruti Aggarwal. The DPS team figured in the top ten city surveyors of birds as acknowledged in the university’s website  page regarding the project where all others names were of foreigners.

Amritsar, March 14, 2015 (Munish Sharma): Tiny tots of Delhi Public School of nursery standard today got the taste of their first success in the field of academics as they graduated from nursery to the primary section.

It was a unique experience for Navrattan Devgan mother of Delhi Public School Head girl Sohani Devgan to preside over as Chief Guest during the celebration of tiny tots of sunshine wing to step into primary level on the Annual Day. It was perhaps for the first time that a mother felt acknowledged for being the force behind her daughter’s (head girl) performance and was thus honored to become the chief guest at the school function.

Amritsar, March 12, 2015 (Munish Sharma): Delhi Public School invited students of nursery to 3rd class to get their pets to school. There were 15 pet contestants who showcased their varied qualities and enticed the students in the bright sunshine and mild wind that flew in the premises of the school today. A number of dogs of different breeds walked in the backdrop of popular song ‘Who let the dogs in’ while a pair of exotic colored parrots too made it to the show besides ducks waddled in and a turtle stood as silent as its shell.

School Principal Sangeeta Singh who joined Vikram Sehgal an expert in pet care and grooming from Beas to commemorate the care for animals and birds program, as a unique event for students in school, for the first time.

Amritsar, March 05, 2015 (Munish Sharma): MasterChef India 4’s promising finalist Drishti Nanda visited her hometown Amritsar today. She has come a long way to reach the Top 12 list of MasterChef India 4. MasterChef is Drishti’s opportunity to prove her and this means a lot to her.

Drishti, all of 23 years belongs to Amritsar and lives there with her parents and a younger sister. She takes small orders of baking and cooking at home for small parties etc. She was never interested in studies, so she ventured into business. At 18 years of age she started her bakery and cafeteria in partnership but she had to shut it down after a year because she had to study.
