Dr Mohit Arora addressing interactive session for Senior Citizens

Amritsar, October 18, 2015 (Nannu Studio): It was a painful experience for me that I could not bend my knees while bowing down at the gurudwara. I could bear the pain of my knees, but not this one, says a 58-year-old an ex-Army man from Ranjit Nagar, Amritsar, while paying heartiest gratitude to orthopaedic surgeon Dr Mohit Arora, Consultant Orthopaedics and Joint Replacement Surgery, Fortis Escorts Hospital, Amritsar, for making him walk on his feet without pain after almost a decade.

And he is not only the one who expressed emotions for their doctor. A 37-year-old, who has been through hip replacement surgery and is suffering from avascular necrosis (a disease in which bones degenerated due to drug addiction), shared, “I have been crawling with pain for the last four years, for me it’s a new life and I cannot thank him enough for giving me my life back.” There are more than 200 senior citizens of the city and patients operated for joint replacement surgery attended the program and have poured out their emotions for their doctor on “Emo for Your Doc” board.

While debunking myths related to knee replacements, Dr Arora, Consultant Orthopaedics and Joint Replacement Surgery, Fortis Escorts Hospital, said, “Every Knee pain does not and should not lead to knee replacements. Replacements are needed when arthritis reaches stage 4, where the bone starts degenerating and there is no other option than knee replacement. Out of the 1,500 regular opds, patients coming to us with joint pains, only 5 per cent actually need replacements.”

The Orthopaedic and Joint replacement department of Fortis Escorts Hospital Amritsar conducted an interactive session of senior citizens and patients undergone joint replacement surgery at Fortis Escorts Hospital Amritsar.. Also present, Dr. H P Singh (Medical Director), Dr Arun Chopra (Director Cardiology) and Dr Pinak Moudgil (Facility Director) commended Dr Mohit Arora for doing excellent work in this field.
