Kangra, April 10, 2016 (News Team): Governor Acharya Devvrat said that Himachal Pradesh is known as Dev Bhumi and has been blessed with immense natural beauty and added that nature should be preserved and protected at all cost. He said that living in close association with nature ensures good health also.
He was speaking in a function organized on the occasion of unveiling the Statue of Swami Vivekananda set up by the Vivekananda Medical Research Trust in the Hospital Complex at Palampur in district Kangra today.
Governor said that Swami Vivekananda was a source of inspiration to all of us and we should follow his teachings in our lives. He said that Swami Vivekananda was a great philosopher and thinker who propagated the rich culture, traditions and values of our country all over the world. He urged the youth to take pride in our culture and rich values of truth and non-violence.
Union Minster of State for Foreign Affairs, General (Retd) V.K. Singh said that every citizen of the country should work for the welfare of society and serve humanity selflessly. He said that teachings of Swami Vivekananda inspire us to lead a righteous life.
Shanta Kumar, MP and Chairman, Vivekananda Medical Research Trust welcomed the Governor and Union Minister of State. He said that the Trust was working for the welfare of people and added that free medical facilities were being provided to the poorest of the poor.
