Host Shahrukh Khan with performer Sivamani on TED Talks India Nayi Soch

Ludhiana, December 21, 2017 (Tarkeshwar Sharma): One would think that the Baadshaah of Bollywood would have fulfilled all his dreams after ruling the industry for over two decades now. But that’s not true. When the famous percussionist Sivamani came on Shahrukh’s current show TED Talks India Nayi Soch, Shahrukh was awestruck watching him play a shank (शंख).

Known to play many instruments like drums, octoban, darbuka, udukai, and kanjira, Sivamani played this very unconventional instrument – shank (शंख) and mesmerized the audience including Shahrukh Khan who got so engrossed in the performance that he rooted ‘har Har Mahadev’ at the end of the performance.

The show that aims to inspire and encourage people to innovate also gave an opportunity to SRK to learn how to play the Shank from Sivamani, the master himself. Later after the episode was shot, Shahrukh said, “I’ve always wanted to learn to play a musical instrument and to play the shank (शंख) and get it right the first time, it’s a dream come true!”
