Mumbai, July 11, 2017 (Online News India): STAR Plus’ popular early prime-time show, Meri Durga is all set to take a leap in the coming few days. The show will be taking a leap of 6-7 years. Child artiste, Ananyaa Agrawal who played the lead role of Durga will make way for actress Srishti Jain in the show. Srishti Jain was last seen in STAR Plus’ show, Suhani Si Ek Ladki.

Post the leap, Durga played by Srishti will be seen playing vegetable hawker. To understand her character better, Srishti has actually spent a lot of time with real life vegetable hawkers to understand their traits.

“As an actor, one always wishes to add authenticity to their character and I too felt that to impersonate something on screen, true justice can only be done through taking real life references. Hence, I have been meeting real life vegetable hawkers understand their mindset and daily routine. I got an insight into how they tackle a variety of customers that come to them. It is amazing how they manage and multitask altogether. I am sure I will now be able to do more justice to my role of Durga.”

Srishti has already begun shooting for Meri Durga and the leap will soon be on air.
