Photo by Neel Kamal SonuGuru Nanak International Public School, Model Town celebrated Gurpurab with great zeal and fervor to mark the Parkash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The programme started with recital of 51 Paaths of Japji Sahib by 51 students followed by Shabad Gayan under the patronage of Holy Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The sangat made a beeline to pay obeisance to the great Guru. The students of Pre-Primary, Primary, Middle and Senior sections attired in white sang hymns, recited poems, gave speeches and sakhis on Guru Nanak Dev Ji. To spread the divine ambience about 46 Poems, 18 Speeches and equal numbers of Sakhis were recited by various students which focused on Guru’s teachings and tenets of universal brotherhood. Serenity floated in the air with the humming of the holy hymns and it paved the way for a very fruitful and productive day.

Ludhiana, November 09, 2014 (Neel Kamal Sonu): Students perform play during LSSC Short Play Competition at BCM School Photo by Neel Kamal SonuBCM School Dugri hosted the LSSC Short Play Competition. Mr. Vijay Munjal, Mrs. Rekha Munjal along with other dignitaries like R B Khanna (Education Advisor), Ms. Amarjyoti Chawla (Principal BCM, Basant City) were present on this occasion. A traditional lamp lighting ceremony marked the beginning of the competition. The School Principal Dr. Vandna Shahi warmly welcomed the Chief guests and all the other dignitaries. About 20 teams from different CBSE Schools across the city participated in the event giving a tough competition. Students showcased their theatrical talents in their presentation of various social evils prevelent in the modern society.

School choir performs Shabad during Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex PowerPoint Presentation in Green Land Convent School on November 07, 2014. Photo by Neel Kamal SonuLudhiana, November 07, 2014 (Neel Kamal Sonu): The Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex PowerPoint Presentation competition in Maths and Science for the session 2014-15 was started in Green Land Convent School Dugri. The competition will last for 2 days. The first day PowerPoint Competition for mathematics was held on 7th November whereas PowerPoint Competition for Science will take place on 8th November, 2014. About twenty one schools are taking part in the competition. The candidates were given four topics, History of Mathematics, Mathematics in Nature, Mathematics in 3D Art and Mathematical Ideas that shaped the World.

The school choir presented melodious Shabads bringing out the importance of the day. The blessings of God were sought through the shabad. The students were told about the life and messages of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji through a speech highlighting the Universality of his life.

Children perform during School Colouring and Talent Hunt Competition by Green Land Convent SchoolLudhiana, November 04, 2014 (Neel Kamal Sonu): Green Land Convent School, Civil City organised an Inter School Colouring and Talent Hunt Competition for the Kindergarten students. The Chief Guest of the day was the Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools Mr. Rajesh Rudhra and Ms. Jyoti Pujara Manager of the school was the guest of honour. The students from renowned playway schools of the city participated to showcase their talent. The parents of the participants were also invited in the function.

The funtion commenced with the colouring competition followed by the fabulous display of tiny tots dance and story show highlighting the role of parents in a child’s life. This was further followed by the Talent Hunt Competition. All the students put their best foot-forth at this spectacular opportunity.

Ludhiana, November 03, 2014 (Neel Kamal Sonu): Punjab College of Technical Education (PCTE) student Bhawanpreet Kaur Barrhing Student of B.Sc. Biotech 2012 batch of PCTE stood First in University in fourth semester PTU Examinations. She scored 89.50% marks, Ushina Verma of CCT Landran stood second and Radhika Chauhan along with Simran Singh Sachdev students of same batch from PCTE secured Third position with 86.13% marks in University Examinations.

In addition students of same batch from PCTE Ruchi Sharma secured Ninth position and Kuwinder Kaur along with Rajwinder Kaur secured Tenth Position in University Examinations. In Biotech 2013 batch Gurneelam Kaur from PCTE stood Third in second semester university examinations whereas Gimmi Sacher, Antarpreet Kaur and Gaganpreet Kaur from PCTE stood sixth, seventh and eighth respectively in university exams.
