Amritsar, March 13, 2015 (Munish Sharma): Curtains were raised on the inaugural edition of the two-day ‘3rd National Techno-Cultural festival Udaan-2015’ that fuses technology and data to emerge with new ideas held at the premises of Global Institutes today. Harcharan Singh, Zonal Manager, Punjab and Sind Bank inaugurated the fest as Chief Guest with the traditional lighting of lamps. The festival is one of the largest Tech-Cultural events organized by the Institute annually in the region.

In his inaugural address, Harcharan Singh exhorted students as techno experts to use their expertise to innovate new technology for making life easier and more meaningful for humanity. He stated that it is the brightest students who attempt to take up technology and management skills; therefore they must put their knowledge to practical use. “Merely creating something is incomplete without understanding its strengths and drawbacks and making an honest assessment,” he added.

None of the Indian Journal in the field of Management and commerce is accredited by the world rating agencies of the research and Indian teachers and researchers need to work on this. These were the views presented by Dr. G.S. Shergil an Eminent Management Scientist and Professor in the School of Communication, Journalism and Marketing in the Massey University of Newzealand.

Dr. Shergil was interacting with the students of M.Com (Business Innovations) and M.Com (General) at SCD Government College Ludhiana. The lecture of Dr G.S. Shergil was dedicated to Dr. Subash Chander Davessor, Former Professor of Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar who was instrumental in designing of M.Com (Business Innovations) Course.

Ltd., Mundia Khurd Ludhiana.

Rajnish Chopra, Trianing and Placement Officer of the Institute accompanied the students. Sukhdyal Singh, Managing Director, Rattan Hammers, Pvt. Ltd. interacted with the students and explained them the entire process of manufacturing. The students visited manufacturing Department, cutting Department, Marketing department and HR Department.

Team got 2 Gold, 1Silver and 4 Bronze Medals. Simranjeet Kaur and Shanti won Gold Medals. Priyanka Sharma bagged Silver Medal. Sarabjeet, Parvinder Kaur, Kavita and Savita got Bronze Medals.

Simranjeet kaur, Sarabjeet Kaur, Priyanka and Shanti have been selected for All India Inter University Camp.

Ludhiana, January 16, 2015 (Neel Kamal Sonu): A road safety week is being observed in BCM School, dugri where a group discussion on Road Safety was conducted for Class IX students.

The students presented a very effective discussion on the methods and measures which reduce the risks while driving. They identified the reasons of increasing road accidents like speeding beyond the prescribed limits, jumping the traffic lights, using roads as racing tracks.

A light was thrown upon the solutions to safe driving, strict enforcement of laws, the offenders to be fined heavily. Awareness campaigns to be carried out.

Ludhiana, January 13, 2015 (Neel Kamal Sonu): The Lohri Festival was celebrated with great pomp and show by students of Everest Public Senior Secondary School, Moti Nagar in Ludhiana today in the school premises. Tiny Tots made an impressive show. Asha Sharma the Principal, while addressing them intimated them about the importance of the day.

Rajinder Sharma, President, Association of the Punjab School Education Board, Affiliated Schools, Punjab (Regd.) presided over the function. He said that Lohri is celebrated every year in the month of January. It is a festival to worship fire. Lohri Festival is celebrated with great pomp in North India. At this time Earth starts moving towards the sun marking the auspicious period of Uttarayan.
