Ludhiana, August 26, 2016 (Neel Kamal Sonu): Hero Cycles, the world’s largest cycle manufacturer, owned by the well-known Munjal Group, celebrated its Founder’s Day today at the Hero Cycles premises on GT Road, Ludhiana. The event was marked by the gracious presence of Deputy Chief Minister Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal and other eminent guest like Renowned Lyricist and Poet Javed Akhtar and renowned bollywood personality Boney Kapoor.
On this occasion, the entire Munjal family was present to pay tributes to the company’s founder the late OP Munjal. Apart from lauding the contribution of their legendary founder, the family also shared how Hero Cycles which started off as a small outfit in 1956, came to be the world’s largest manufacturer of sophisticated environment friendly two-wheelers.
Members of the Munjal family also spoke on how the company has changed with the times, the milestones it has crossed, the challenges it has faced from time to time and how the family surmounted those challenges to make Hero Cycles the market leader that it is today.
Speaking on the occasion, Pankaj Munjal , Chairman and Managing Director, Hero Cycles, said, “We are pleased to share with you, the successful journey started by our father six decades ago and the way he built this huge empire from just a small shop in an obscure village. The role he played in establishing the company, the benchmarks he created in the industry and the mentoring he provided for all of us was indeed exemplary. Today, we have all gathered here to pay our tributes to this visionary.”
The major attraction of the event was the presence of the third generation Munjals on the dias. They shared with the audience their plans to take Hero Cycles to even greater heights.
